What if I am worried about having an eye disease? Should I come to your office or call an opthalmologist?
Dr. Farnsworth is trained and licensed to diagnose all eye diseases. If you have an eye infection, glaucoma, foreign body removal, or need pre and/or post care for cataract or refractive surgery, etc.—he is trained to treat it. If surgery or further consultation is indicated, he will recommend a specialist that deals extensively with the condition you may have, so that you will receive the most efficient and highest quality professional care.
How much does an eye exam cost, and what does it include?
A complete comprehensive visual exam and testing costs $194 for a new patient, $166 for a returning patient, and takes about an hour. The exam includes a discussion of your needs, family and personal health histories, your occupational needs and recreational needs, refractive evaluation to determine your possible visual correction, eye movement test to determine how well your eyes work together, a thorough evaluation of the health of your eyes especially for glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes and high blood pressures’ effect on the vision, and retinal eye diseases.
Do you fit contact lenses?
Yes, we fit all major types of contact lenses including disposables, hard oxygen permeables, soft, extended wear, torics (to correct for astigmatism), bifocals, and cosmetic colored lenses. Our practice is a full service vision practice.
Can I stop in to look at your frame selection before I make an appointment?
Certainly, and in fact, many people do this. That will not only allow you to look at our frame selection, but it will also give you an opportunity to “look us over” and hopefully choose us as your family’s vision care specialist. We have a large selection of guaranteed, quality fashion frames. All of our frames have at least a one year guarantee against breakage.
Can I get my glasses adjusted or repaired at your office, even if I am not a patient of yours?
Yes, this is a service we offer to our community. We would be most happy to adjust or repair your spectacles. It is also another opportunity for you to come by and “look us over”!
Do I have to get my glasses or contact lenses from you?
No, we will give you a copy of your prescription once Dr. Farnsworth has determined the best one for you. We, of course, would like to provide you with your material needs not only because it is good business for us, but more importantly for you, we can then guarantee the quality of the materials and the service of them. Our most treasured advertiser is you and your satisfaction, therefore we want to do absolutely everything we can to service your needs.
Can you bill my insurance?
Yes, filing for coverage with insurance companies can be confusing and exasperating at best for anyone. We will be happy to check your benefits and bill your insurance for you.
